Pace 1's voices include individuals attending our program. Their voices provide an introduction to our mission at Pace 1. Listen to them tell their story.
“We are proud that our site, Pace 1, is one of Pace Solano’s first locations (started as PACE in 1983)! It is fun to come to Pace 1 and to be with our friends, to get to know each other, to work, and to learn. We want to show people that we can do many things! We also want to show them where we work and the skills we learn in our different classes.
We want the entire community in Vallejo to know us and we want to learn more about the community. We want our friends and family to see what we do at Pace 1. Most of all, we want to be accepted for who we are. Pace 1 is a place where we can be ourselves, celebrate our lives, and show off all that we do.”
Individuals attending our program have the opportunity to work, participate in a variety of classes, and take part in community events. Such classes and events include: cooking, health and safety, physical education, community gardening, Meals on Wheels, and – everyone’s favorite – Pace Solano's annual Vallejo-Benicia Talent Show.
Pace 1 has moved after almost 35 years at our original location. Our new location has allowed us to expand and offer additional support to individuals with physical support needs. This includes the integration of certain equipment and technology, such as the Hoyer lift. In addition, Pace 1’s new location offers easy access to everyone’s favorite food and shopping locations!
We continue to see changes in our individuals’ lives as they attend our program. Please join us as we continue to expand and increase person-centered choices for all of our participants.
